Leading Transformation Without Being Swallowed by It

When leading change demands too much of you

Most transformations take longer than planned. The people carrying them often run out before the change does, and when they do, the work slows with them.

What feels like exhaustion on the inside can look like something else from the outside. It can look like taking a stakeholder’s pushback personally, as if it were a verdict on your worth. It can look like chasing the work alone because asking for help would feel like admitting it isn’t working. Sometimes it is the yes to one more responsibility, even when you are already juggling a lot.

In this session, we’ll explore how caring for yourself is part of effective leadership in change, not something separate from it.

How the ninety minutes works

Choose one of three doors where you may be carrying more of the transformation than you need to:

  • Gaining healthy distance from the work, so its setbacks stop landing as verdicts on you.

  • Building partnerships, so you stop carrying it alone.

  • Setting boundaries, so your yes is reliable and purposeful.

You work your door in a small group with others facing similar challenges, reflect on your own situation, and take one concrete step before the session ends.

You’ll leave with

  • A clearer view of one pattern in how you are carrying this transformation.

  • One distinction you can use to carry it differently.

  • One action you started during the session.

  • A 30-day experiment, with a way to tell whether it is working.

This is for you if

  • You are accountable for, or driving, a transformation that involves other people.

  • Leading change affects how you work, relate to others, or take care of yourself

  • You are willing to look at how you are carrying it and try something different for 30 days.

This is not a stress-management or wellness session, and it is not a transformation methodology. Come with a real transformation challenge you are currently navigating to get the most out of the ninety minutes.

Facilitated by Judit Teichert and Gene Sun. Judit is Partner at KONU and Managing Director of our German office. She has spent more than a decade facilitating and coaching leadership teams across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the U.S. Gene is a Senior Associate at KONU. He came to organizational work through architecture and behavior-change coaching, and holds a master’s in industrial and organizational psychology.

Before you join

At registration: three short questions about the transformation you are carrying. Your answers go to Judit and Gene and shape the session. Nothing appears in the room with your name or organization on it.

Practical

Fee is $119. Non-refundable, transferable to a colleague. If finances are an obstacle, use LEAD2026 to waive the fee.

The session is capped at 30 so the breakout groups stay small and can be organized by door. Registration closes Monday, November 9. There is no recording, because most of the work happens in small groups.

This will be a virtual workshop. It will be held 10:00-11:30am ET / 16:00-17:30 CET / 17:00-18:30 IST.
