FMO’s Capacity Development Team Adaptive Leadership Workshop Series
The purpose of the Adaptive Leadership Workshop Series is to introduce leadership tools from the Adaptive Leadership framework that will help you increase your capacity to hold complexity and manage uncertainty during this time of change as well as support you to be aligned on how you, as a team, need to grow and adapt to successfully face change and collaborate more towards that goal.
Goals
At the end of the Adaptive Leadership workshop series, the following objectives will have been achieved:
You will have been introduced to core concepts of the Adaptive Leadership Framework (technical vs adaptive challenges, leadership vs authority, disequilibrium)
You will have a common language and make connections between the framework, the changes you are facing in your environment (with clients, at FMO and within your team and individually), and your capacity development work
You will have increased your capacity to hold complexity and manage uncertainty during this time of change
You will have aligned on how you, as a team, need to grow and adapt to successfully face change and collaborate more towards that goal
You will have identified personal development goals in line with the above, shared these amongst each other, and in doing so strengthened your developmental team culture
You will have deepened relationships and bonds with each other and as a whole team to continuously consult to each other and develop beyond the program.
Application Levels
We will work with different levels of application in the virtual follow-ups and in your pods. The virtual follow-up sessions provide an opportunity to further engage with the team challenge of prioritizing (large group) as well as challenges on the level of your projects/regions (breakouts). In your pods, you will have the opportunity to work on a personal development goal.
Program Structure

A note on presence
We request your full presence during each of our two-hour Lab meetings. This includes switching off any unnecessary notifications on your phones and computers and closing all unnecessary apps, tabs, and windows during the sessions. We also invite you to be on video as much as you are able, especially when we break into smaller groups.
The more fully you show up, the more powerful and meaningful the experience will be for everyone.
Please note: the sessions will not be recorded, so we encourage you to treat these meeting times as sacred. We will do our best to support you if you miss a session, but the meetings are interactive with a lot of small group and individual work, so you'll get the most impact by showing up.
If you anticipate any important emergencies or commitments that require your attention, or any issues joining us using Zoom, please let us know in advance so we can be prepared for that.
